Certification requires that the collector fullfills a number of criteria. There are criteria for every part of used textile value chain; on information, transparency and reporting, on collection, sorting, transport, reuse (including sales), recycling, export, environmental performance and social benefit. There are two versions of the checklists, one for collection of textiles aimed for reuse and one for collection of textiles for reuse and textile waste.

The compliance of criteria will be verified through a certification system with third party auditors.
The criteria are listed in a checklista for collectors aiming for certification. Apart from the criteria, the checklist also includes documentation and routine requirements needed to comply with the criteria. The checklist can be used as preparation for a third party audit.
